It was interesting to see what came out once I started drawing. I feel like pregnant women have to wear two faces: the public -I am so happy I am pregnant nothing could be better and the private-I am grouchy and annoyed that I can't do the things I used to. Feel free to analyze.
I guess i was always pretty much open when it came to my pregnancies. When i felt bad most knew it ( morning sickness, discomfort ) When i felt great i shared it. I am sure a lot of women hide how they truly feel. There is so much pressure to have a mask on, in life, at all times. I just have never been one to hide my emotions that well ( at least i don't think i have ) Probably reasons why i/you are creatives.

i think you are so right on this rachel... women... always feeling like we have to put our happy face on. i love this idea of art and emotions in the book you found. oh... and i LOVED seeing your south africa pics too... sigh... jealous.
