We're Not Pregnant but We are Moving to...
Lusaka, Africa
You may be thinking what in the world. Will and I were both offered positions with CIDRZ. Will's job will be to help institute a program training Zambian health care providers to expand care to patients with HIV. I will be working with mothers and children affected by HIV. We will be gone for 10 months. We have to be there by August 1st and will return at the end of May. We are now accepting applications for pen pals.
I've been following the blog of a young couple who just returned from this same (kind of) assignment. However, I don't think they were in Lusaka ----

You will love it and will be AMAZING at your job!!
Um....where do I submit my application?! I love pen pals!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Can't wait to hear about that adventure! My youngest son Chase dreams of going to Africa (to see the animals) we'd love to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteYay!! I got your comment on my blog a while back and am so sorry I haven't responded earlier. These first 2 weeks back in the States have been a little crazy!
ReplyDeleteWe weren't with CIDRZ, but are very familiar with them and know some CIDRZ staff very well. (We were with another HIV research project in town- ZEHRP.) We actually had the opportunity to stay in Zam longer and work with CIDRZ though. For whatever reason, we didn't feel that was where the Lord was leading us and are moving our lives back here again. I'm back for good, but my hubs is leaving tomorrow to go back and finish his contract. He comes home at the beginning of July though, so I guess yall will just miss him.
Here is my email (katystone87@gmail.com) if you have any specific questions or need anything!
Good luck in your preparations over the next few months!!
