Weekend Wrapup

This weekend Will and I apartment sat for a co-worker of ours. She has a cat who just had surgery. Bessie is her name and I am sad to say I don't have a picture of her. She is a cutie. The apartment was a street over from where we live. There was no t.v. and no internet. It was wonderful. Sometimes I need to be taken away from those vices or I will remain completely unproductive. It was nice for Will and I to be together without the roomies. We really love our roommates, but a little time together isn't too bad either.

On Saturday we went to the Dutch Reformed Market. You may remember it from this post. We met Christopher who makes jewelry. All the girl roommates got rings made. We are pretty much reliving B.F.F. days. Christopher sized my hand and made each ring in about 5 minutes.

Wrapping the stone in wire.

Finished product. It was only 30 pin
which is less than $6 USD

Sydney, one of the other roomies,
 sporting her rock.

We found a painting that we both loved. Zambians are so
artistic.
We also went to Kmawala which is where most people in Lusaka go to buy fabric. I found some fabric for pillows and a dress. We dropped them off at the tailor. I will let you know how it all turns out.
Scenic view: This is a Jacaranda and they are blooming
all over the city.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low key. Lots of reading, phase 10, and talking.
